Title: Hybrid and EV Case Studies

Description:

This course is designed to familiarize the technician with the unique challenges presented by hybrid and electric vehicles. Using the case study format helps show real world faults the technician can expect to see in their service bay. The course will provide a foundation in high voltage (HV) theory and demonstrate the use of the specialty tooling needed for high voltage system  

Learner outcomes: 

  • Understand high voltage isolation loss diagnosis and testing
  • Understand high voltage battery diagnosis and repair 
  • Comprehend high voltage motor/generator diagnosis and repair
  • Develop a foundation for No Ready diagnosis 
  • Familiarize with the unique challenges of hybrid crank/no start diagnosis
  • Understand basic plug-in hybrid charging faults
  • Learn the unique internal combustion engine diagnosis considerations for hybrids
